AI guardrails setup · CAD $900

Keep your AI on a short leash.

Using AI to reply to inquiries or run a business task? We help you write down what it may do, set practical usage limits and alerts, and test how to stop it when something goes wrong.

  2. Scope and fixed price agreed in writing
  3. Set up, tested and handed over

One workflow, set up with limits you can use.

For an Oakville owner already using an AI chatbot, assistant or automation that can send messages, change business records or run up usage charges. We start with one real workflow, not a whole-business security programme.

You finish with a named owner, a written list of what the AI may and may not do, practical limits in the tools that support them, tested alerts, and a stop procedure you can use without us.

What the fixed fee covers

Inventory

One business, one existing workflow and up to three connected tools or services. We record each tool, its owner, what triggers it, which accounts it uses and what it can send, change or spend.

Authority list

One page: what the AI may do, what needs a person’s approval, what it must never do, and who can approve or restart it. Unneeded access is removed where the platform allows, with your approval.

Usage limits and alerts

Thresholds you agree, one monitored usage measure, one alert destination, and the strongest stop or limit your existing platform actually supports.

Stop and restart steps

How to pause the workflow, deal with queued or scheduled work, confirm new activity has stopped, and restart only after a check by you.

Pre-launch review

We ask what could go wrong, then test duplicate triggers, retry loops, unexpected inputs, attempts to go past the authority list, and the stop route. Tests use dummy data and test recipients.

Handoff

A short pack with the inventory, authority list, settings record, test results, known gaps and an owner checklist, plus a 45-minute walkthrough. One follow-up within seven days for corrections to the agreed setup.

An alert is not a hard spending cap.

We check what each tool can really do before quoting. A budget notification, a delayed dashboard and a written instruction are not enforced limits. We do not promise an instant stop, a universal kill switch or zero overspend. If a risk cannot be contained within this scope, we say so and recommend keeping that action manual or paused.

Done means tested

  • You approve the limits, authority list, alert recipient and test plan before any setting changes.
  • A controlled test produces the expected alert, and we record whether the system only warns, blocks work, or needs a person to pause it.
  • The stop procedure prevents new runs in the tested workflow. Queued work and effects that cannot be undone are checked and noted separately.
  • You can run the stop and restart steps yourself at handoff. Each control is marked tested, manual-only or unsupported.

Not included

New automation builds, custom code, coding-agent or plugin security audits, penetration tests, legal or privacy compliance certification, and incident recovery.

Ongoing monitoring or 24/7 response. This is a one-time setup, and you own the alerts and daily checks after handoff.

More than one workflow or more than three connected services. Those need a new quote, and no extra paid work starts without your agreement.

We use temporary, least-privilege access where possible, keep passwords out of email, record your original settings and hand account ownership back to you. AI can still make mistakes, and this setup is not a guarantee against them.

CAD $900 for one agreed workflow.

Software, usage fees and applicable taxes extra. Scope and the fixed price are agreed in writing before paid work begins. Timing is confirmed after we check your tools, account access and existing controls.

Is this the right first step?

If you have not chosen a tool yet, the $350 CAD AI starting plan may fit better: one 60-minute working session, a tool shortlist and written next steps for one workflow.

Before the call

  • Name the workflow and the tools it uses.
  • Say what it can send, change or spend.
  • Say what you most want to prevent.
  • Do not send passwords, customer records or confidential documents.
